for sure they made a mistake. when u have a top 10 pick u dont take a return man. ginn may be a fine returner in the league. but he will be a terrible receiver. he is weak and has no hands. he will never be a compliumentary receiver to chambers, this pick has bust written all over it

Yes, they messed up. No, not another Ricky Williams. Ricky Williams was one of the best RBs in the league, Ginn is just a fast undersized WR who can return kicks. He won't be better than a number 3 WR and probably won't be half the returner Hester was last year. Even Hester can't match those numbers, but Ginn is a second round pick. The Dolphins needed Quinn.

Ever considering Don Shula and Dan Marino left the Dolphin employer the possession has been grasping at straws. Nick Saban had no theory what the hell the pro pastime could be like and he set the group decrease back, and then had the class to go away the situatuion even worse than he chanced on it. It even made Jason Taylor contemplate retirement. the determination of Ted Ginn Jr. replaced right into a attain and a waste... the Dolphins want help very nearly everywhere.Ted Ginn Jr. is a of entirety... no longer a construction block.....

I think Miami made a great decision to pass on Brady Quinn. Of course I am a Cleveland Browns fan so I would think that.
Everybody talks about Ginn as a returner. What I want to know is why would you pick a return man in the first round. Return men usually have a 2 to 3 year shelf life. If they haven't broken into the starting line up by then, they will be beat to hell on special teams and be gone by their fourth maybe fifth year.

Yes, they made a big mistake because when you have an oppurtunity to get a player like Brady Quinn who was arguably the best player in the draft, with the #9 pick, that is a steal. Also the QB position was their #1 need and they used their pick on a WR in Ginn who was projected 18-32.

Yes they messed up, and not because they passed on Brady Queer. They did the right thing in getting their QB of the future in the second round. But you NEVER draft a special teams player that high in the draft (Did we not learn ANYTHING from the Saints drafting Russel Exerblen, a KICKER in the first round years ago?). He is a small receiver who is primarily a return specialist. He will never be a #1 receiver. People I know have said "They said the same thing about Steve Smith, look at him now". But Steve Smith can catch. He can run routes, Ginn is questionable in both of those aspects, primary abilities necessary to be a receiver. Not the best thing they could have done with the first round pick. If they didnt want Brady Queer, they could have traded the pick to someone else who lusted after him.

I think the Dolphins reached with Ginn at that pick. The guy is flat out fast and may be an awesome return man, but at Ohio St. he was only an above avg pass catcher. He's one of those deep threat only receivers and with the bigger, quicker, stronger defensive backs of the NFL, he might not get many opportunities.

I am a die hard Dolphin fan and i was terribly disappointed when they picked Ted Ginn Jr. over Brady Quinn. While i was watching it when the Dolphins were on the clock and Quinn was still on the board i started calling all of my friends telling them that my team would get Quinn. Fifteen minutes later i have to call them again and rant on how it was the stupidest thing they could have done. They need a solid quarterback, which they havent had since Dan Marino.

Ted Ginn is a good player but he was overdrafted in the draft. He will be good but he won't have the excpectations of a first round draft pick that a team would want the player to have for being drafted that high

The Dolphins were 6-10 and had the 22nd ranked Rushing Offense last season.
They should have drafted a Running Back or Offensive Lineman with their first drat pick to immediately help improve that Rushing Offense and therefore make the team better.
Ted Ginn, Jr. was 56th in receptions per game (4.54), 74th in receiving yards per game (60.08), 25th in punt returns (24 for 266 yards and 1 TD), 29th in kickoff returns (18 for 440 yards and 1 TD), 37th in all-purpose running (115.69 yards per game) and 62nd in total receiving yards (781).
He should have been drafted but not as the 9th overall pick in the draft.
