In my opinion the older ones are better than the newer ones.
The Princess Bride
An Office and a Gentleman
Dirty Dancing
Romancing the Stone
Pretty Woman
etc...
and then my faves from the 90s are Drive Me Crazy, 10 Things I Hate About You, A Knight's Tale, and She's All That.
here's a good website to have a look at

Try an older movie called "Always" with Holly Hunter and Richard Dreyfuss. I'm not much of a girly man when it comes to movies, but I had rub my eyes during this movie.....because I had, um, a speck of dust or something in them. Another one is "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams. Both are about the afterlife, and what impact it has on the one you care about the most.

I wouldn't at all call this a chick flick but what About
Pirates Of The Caribbean at World's End.
It has a beginning so sad and dramatic, and it has Johney Depp and Orlando Bloom both looking totally hot... so yeah I recommend that.

It's an "oldie" but still a goodie... "Strictly Ballroom". This was a great little independent film that came out, and with the new ballroom dancing craze, it's especially poignant. It's a cute, quirky, funny "chick flick".

"Three Women" and "Valley of the Dolls". The former is from the 70's and stars Sissy Spacek and Shelley Duvall. The latter is from the 60's and stars Sharon Tate and Patty Duke. I know they're old, but vintage movies are totally overlooked.
