i started off with a squier! i still have it, and yeah its good for beginners but as you start to progress you'll notice the sound difference among different types of guitars and strings! if moneys no object by all means ask a pro and see what you like!

yes. the stratocaster in general is a popular guitar, and the squeir model is a lot less expensive than the fender. the great thing about the stratocaster is the fact that it has three rows of pickups widely spaced, giving it an incredible sound range.

yes, squier's are good quality. Because everyone knows they are owned by fender, fender won't let the quality drop as it would give a bad impression to all the new guitarist, who they hope will upgrade to fenders one day.
