To start with you need a contractors license (in California)
and I am assuming that you mean a construction and/or
demolition company.

Equipment would depend upon how big the job is and
whether you are constructing or tearing down. You will
need hammers, crowbars, saws (electric and hand)
levels, gloves. A lot depends on what you want to do.

You ask about skills, if you don't already have the skills
you may want to go to your local carpenters union and
see about getting on as a carpenters apprentice, then
you can earn as you learn.

Try examining the websites of expert demolition companies to see what they are using, skill sets and typical projects.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. is an expert demolition contractor.

Geez, if you have to ask those questions here, why would you even think you would be able to open and run the company?
