I know scrapbooking is being able to make pages that you like and keep them as a souvenir, however I never seem to be satisfied with my page, I am always seeking perfection. I see all kinds of pages poorly desgined in a haste (no offence to those concerned) and I dont understand that. I can spend 10-15 hours or more (over the course of a few days) trying my best to make my pages look perfect, Ill retouch the pictures retouch the layers, etc etc etc.. never satisfied.

How do I overcome this ? I dont seem to be a percectionist with any thing else in my life.

you simply will never get anything done, my mom was like that with sewing and when she died my bedroom curtians still had straight pins in the fringe and i had been away from home for 25 yrs, my stuff isnt perfect on the insides, maybe not every seam or stitch is just right, but i made most of my clothes, my daughters clothes and now i make quilts and such for my grand daughter, they are simple squares for those quilts and they are flannel, but shes almost 3 and she drags one around with her all the time, they are soft and warm and stitched to hold together, though nothing is fancy. she loves them. give in or you will end up giving up.

It's not wrong if you enjoy it! I do the same thing with all my craft projects. Sometimes I get frustrated and feel like I've wasted several hours that could have been better spent, until I look at a finished project with which I am completely satisfied. There is no better feeling than knowing you created something original and cool. I love to get sincere compliments on my work.
Besides, it's a hobby, right? The sooner you finish, the sooner you need to find a new project to start. Might as well take your time. (it's cheaper that way, too)
Just remember, perfection is almost impossible to achieve because our style and taste are constantly evolving. Stop when you've done your best. That's usually one step before I ruin it. Doh!
Happy Scrapping!

It's not wrong if you enjoy it, but don't compare yourself to others. Some of them think scrapbooking is silly because you're just arranging pre-made stuff on a page, so they're not going to put the time into it. They have their things that they are perfectionists on, and you might not be good at those things. Live and let live.

Its not exactly wrong, just overly obsessive. I suggest timing yourself. Set the alarm for 3 hours and whatever you've finished doing in that time is how it stays.

sounds like you have an idea of what you want, and just aren't satisfied until you get there...

i think it is important to know WHEN to STOP with projects like Digital Art...because basically the "World is our oyster" so to speak and we could go on and on and on on one project...so acquiring the ability to KNOW when to Stop is key to being able to move forward. And it is Your project, YOUR art, you get to decided when to call it quites...You will know when it is time to move to another page.

enjoy the process...

its not wrong... writers reread and edit what they write many times too... or my dad who is a teacher would spend hours adjusting a little picture's position in his course book as well, and i dont even see any difference!
so as long as it is your hobby and you are not -too- obsessed with making it perfect, then dont worry!
