can i wear a jean skirt and dressy top or is that to casual?

That's to casual. Wear a sundress or simple every day dress the little black dress too & have a cute hat with low heel round toe pumps no stockings.

I agree that it may be too casual, but I have seen some really classy denim skirts lately. If it is a solid dark jean skirt with no fringe, no fading and preferably no pockets and the top is almost over the top fancy ( sparkles alot, Is silk etc) You may be able to pull it off well. I really go with the little black dress style most of the time though. Theres some extremely classy cute ones out right now!

No, you can't wear a jean skirt -- it's too casual. I think semi-formal just means that your dress does not have to be a gown (or floor length). Basically, it's still a time to get all dressed up or you will probably feel out of place. Perhaps if wearing your hair up with a tiara is formal for you -- you could tone that down too and just wear your hair loose...

I just went to one and everyone was wearing huge dresses!
I wore a knee-high red with white polka dot dress with black frill underneath and it was just casual enough.
Don't be a girl that wears a prom dress or a girl that wears a tee shirt!

I think that's a little on the too casual side of things. I would try a simple knee-length or short dress, nothing too fancy, and I would try accenting with some bright accesories.

Much to casual, that sounds like school clothes.
A really pretty sun dress with sandal heels and a lovely hair style would be good.

well our semi formal dances around here..we were short dresses and heels

if your jean skirt is a dark wash and your top is dressy enough than the outfit will look cute.but if not, than the outfit is to casual.
