I have 4 USB Ports in my PC. All the 4 ports have stopped functioning immediately today. I have tried all the methods given in yahoo answers earlier of going to Device Manager, reinstalling the drivers, removing alll devices from USB Ports, putting off the PC and power etc etc and blahm blah and blah. Is it possible that the Universal Serial Bus has gone faulty on the mother board? Some intelligent answers please from hardware experts.

Check whether the cable inside the computer, connecting the motherboard pins to the actual jacks got disconnected. ~

yes, I have one PC here with same problem.
PC got hit with a 'brown out' bit like a power surge in reverse.
My problem is its a Gateway with a custom BIOS which Gateway have not got a update for and does not work with an add-on USB card.
Hope you have better luck

yes things on the mother board might have broken.. how rough are you at plugging them in? open up the comp and look at them, they might be coming loose.. other than that i'v got no idea
