I have a friend who is the sweetest person alive as well as wickedly funny, but it seems like no one else wants to give her a chance. She's Mormon and very personally pious, and doesn't tolerate things like swearing or violence very well. People always ask me why we're friends since I'm an atheist and swear like a trucker and I keep telling them that it's because she's really cool and funny and it's nice to be around someone who is just nice. I also feel like she gets hassled a lot. What can I do? She is one of the greatest people I've ever met, and I'd like other people to realize it.

I asked my 16 year old daughter this. She said, keep being her friend, include her with your other friends so that they can see how nice she is and everything.

After watching my daughter interact with others of her peers, she usually likes the ones who like her, and if they don't like her, she just doesn't hang around with them. And if they give her an attitude, she just gives them the same. I think she's right, just keep being her friend, and soon, everyone will see what you see in her.

Mormons always get hassled for living by their churchs' teachings like no smoking, drinking, drugs...etc. It's really not fair, but that's life right? So, maybe if you stick up for her and continue to be her friend, others will follow.

Just include her in your activities. Your friends will eventually learn her good side.

Then you can corrupt her and destroy her faith.

why bother yourself with others opinions....do what you like, never wait for others opinions as long as you don't do something wrong...they won't add for you
