The Wheat cents from the 1950s are commonly found in dealer's mixed pennies bin for as little as 2 cents each. Cents from the post-WW2 1940s or 50s are inexpensive even in low uncirculated state, with most being sold under $1. As for the 1929 dated cent, it's not rare or scarce, but is worth more than the 50s pennies, with a retail of $1 to $2 in condition average circulated. Minimum retail for this date is $0.50. Pre-1982 Lincoln cents are actually worth more than their face due to higher copper prices of late, but unfortunately it's illegal to melt these coins.

If you spend it, it will spend like a penny, but depending on the year of it, it is worth much more. Here is a site to see it's worth. I'm sure you could sell it on eBay.
