Time for a new burner! After awhile, the welds separate on the burners. If you have a Weber,Ducane,PGS,Firemagic, BroilMaster, you'll have to get burners made just for them. Most places will be out of those particular burners this time of year, and will have to be special ordered. Also Different models of a particular grill, lets say,Ducane, will take different kinds of burners a Ducane 1204 will be different than a Ducane 1202. Or a PGS K30, will be different from a K40. You just cant walk into a store a pick out a burner. You cant MAKE it fit either. That's dangerous. The venturi tubes need to match up exactly. Take your old burner, what ever is left of it,with you.Stick it in a trash bag,and show the sales clerk. If they know what their doing and have them in stock, You'll be set. Happy Grilling! Bye ,Oh, using universal burners will only result in replacing them several times or more.Using the correct burner should have a warranty of up to 10 years

This means you need to replace, or at least clean the burner!

Make certain your propane tank is turned off. Remove the fire grate (on some grills this might work better if you remove the lava rocks first.) If you can do it, it is best to completely remove the burner(s). That way you can get the holes at the correct angle to clean, but it can be done with the burner still on the grill. Use a wire-bristle brush, or other stiff bristles, to clean all the holes on the burner. If a lot of the metal from the burner is coming off as you do this, you need to replace the burner. I have replaced mine several times with "universal" fit burners which are available for $20 to $40 from such places as Wal-Mart, Lowes' and Home Depot. This is the main "working" part of your grill and if you use it a LOT, clean your grill at least once a year and replace the burner.

Remove the burner assembly. Some of the holes are probably blocked with drippings or maybe even spider webs from winter strorage. Make sure all the gas openings are clear and tap it to loosen any rust inside that may have formed. Just before the burner is a tube (venturi) that mixes the gas with air. It is adjustable and may need opening or closing a bit.
