To me that would be The Ring. I saw it in the theater and it scared me so bad I couldn't sleep a wink for two nights afterward, and I had this guy I wasn't even really into stay the night with me so that I wouldn't have to be alone in the dark. To this day anytime I see static on the television screen I get freaked out!

This really depends on what you consider "scary."
If you want serial killers, I'd say go see Scream or When A Stranger Calls. If you want the classic children monsters/fairy tales, go see The Boogeyman or Darkness Falls. If you want possessed by devils and such, go see The Omen or The Exorcist. Or if you would rather see creatures that fall into no real category but haunt the earth - go see The Ring or The Grudge.
Many say "The Exorcist" was the scariest they've seen. This is really a cross between religion and the devil. It's really something that happens everyday. Although, not as dramatic or as obvious. The Exorcist is basically like being in the same room with the devil and not knowing what to expect. I guess, that's what really scares people...because the devil can do so many things in the blink of an eye.

well in my opinion no movies are scary!! most of them are stupid!! every who answered before me said the exorcist but i have not seen that so it could be scary! but mainly it's all in your own opinion!!! i know a girl who cried when she watched the grudge and that movie is just retarted!!! and then i was a my friends party and this girl brought white noise and said it was the scariest movie she'd ever seen and that movie put me to sleep!!! but if i had to choose then i would say the movies with the most suspense!! those are the ones that keep one on the edge of your seat!!

It all depends on what scares a certain person. It ranges from the supernatural, the homicidal, the animal/insect phobia. Personally, I don't have an idea. What makes you scared? You should elaborate. Sorry for not being helpful.

I thought the new Amityville Horror was pretty scary. But very few horror movies are frightening anymore. The Shining was pretty scary too.

"The Watcher in the Woods". Ok, I know it's Disney, but the show is just freaky. I watched it when I was very young and it still gives me the creeps. I still have to walk past mirrors really quickly when it's dark.
