1. we invaded them when they did nothing to us. When we find there were no weapons of mass destruction, we said it was a mistake. Could Slobodan Milosovic and Saddam Hussein not say the same thing? a mistake.
2. we did the Abu Ghraib scandal and other that followed. We were in their country they were not in the US.
3. yes, killing insurgents is also against the international law because we are in their country. If you invade a country, people will fight back. What would Americans do if Cuba invaded them?.
4. yes, insurgents are also killing Iraqis, but we caused the whole thing. Withought invading them they would have killed nobody.

"First off, I want to be understood that I don't support the war, we've been there too long."
- you do not support not because you were there for too long but because you illegally invaded a country. You do not support illegal wars, period.
"But I do want to point out, it is a WAR. Civilians die. If the war were over here, we would be dying".
- Excuse me! civilians die? they die because you are killing them or have caused their killing. You cannot kill people on false premises. people dying in wars doesnt mean you go out there killing people.
"I'm grateful it's been going on over there and we're safe from that war"
- really pathetic. May be you should be in Iraq to see how it feels like.
"Iraq was doing things, and was big in many terrorist attacks all over"
- not all over and even US govt will tell you Iraqis never harmed an American prior to invasion.

"They were said to have had weapons of mass destruction, they had even been saying so for quite some time. There was evidence pointing to them having it. My question is: Where did they end up if they weren't there when we got there?"
- even if they had WMD, it is not your business to disarm them. The US has countless numbers of all weapons. Yes they should have WMD so that you can no longer invade them.
What gives the right to have weapons but not others?. And what makes you think that you have the right to stop people having weapons?. You are a country, just a country not the world, and you should understand that.
"They also helped cover up Osama bin Ladin for awhile".
- no they didnt. Noone ever said this. And may be you can look at alternative explanations of 9-11. Alternatives to "19 amateurs with plastic box cutters could do something at the scale of 9-11."
"Another thing, People kill people. Unfortunately it happens, and will always happen. "

"Another thing, People kill people. Unfortunately it happens, and will always happen. It's in our nature "
-really? so if i go out shooting then its ok? just it happened cos killing happens?
"We did not cause other people to start killing Iraqis. They had people out to get them and have always had people wanting to get them."
- yes you did. Iraqis didnt go shooting each others prior to invasion.
"We (the American population/government officials, etc.) Are not terrorists. "
- a terrorist is one that terrorizes people, remember.
"we are trying to fix things we cannot fix. We were trying to make the place safer to live, better to live. "
- your head is screwed up with propaganda. Really. Who believes in your bull when you go killing people cliaming to save them.
"We cannot do that because there are too many cultural, religious, and personality differences and barriers".
- it is not cultural barriers, it is simply that people have, can and will resist your invasions.

"I think the terrorists are those who strap bombs to their body and scream "Allah u Akbar!"
- you dont have to shout Allah u Akbar! to be a terrorist. A terrorist is one who terrorizes people, it is really that simple.
THERE ARE TERRORISTS IN IRAQ. WE ARE FIGHTING A WAR ON TERRORISM
- well, apparently, you arent reading the above arguments.
COME ON PEOPLE! HOW MANY 9/11'S NEED TO HAPPEN BEFORE YOU GET OUT OF THIS FANTASY WORLD?!
- even the US governmet has told you that Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. Obviously yer not listening.
SADDAM KILLED TONS OF HIS OWN PEOPLE! SO, YEAH, PEOPLE HAVE DIED EVEN WHEN WE WEREN'T THERE.
- he killed his own people, not Americans (Chinese killed their people too). He killed his own people in 1982 but you invaded his country in 2003. Get it?

"Terrorist are the suicide bombers and the cowards that place car bombs. Satified now?"
- not satisfied with your definition. You do not have to be a suicide bomber to be a terrorist. Shooting people is also murder in the same way. You kill people, they are dead, no matter how you killed them, that is terror. And you do not have to place a bomb in a car: raiding peoples' houses, scaring people like that, even if you didnt shoot them, is still terrorism.

"Rosie is wrong. There have not been anywhere close to that number of civillian deaths in Iraq. You need to divide by 10. "
- and why would i divide by 10? magic numbers? and how many deaths is a big number to you?.
"The terrorists are those who murder civillians. These people are Arabs, NOT Americans."
- Americans didnt murder civilians?. Anyways, what would you call me if i came by planes and drop bombs on your house, backyard, destroy the bridge that takes you to shopping malls and hospital, etc etc?

First off, I want to be understood that I don't support the war, we've been there too long.
But I do want to point out, it is a WAR. Civilians die. If the war were over here, we would be dying. I'm grateful it's been going on over there and we're safe from that war, however I do feel regret that innocent people have to die.
Iraq was doing things, and was big in many terrorist attacks all over. They were said to have had weapons of mass destruction, they had even been saying so for quite some time. There was evidence pointing to them having it. My question is: Where did they end up if they weren't there when we got there?
They also helped cover up Osama bin Ladin for awhile.
Another thing, People kill people. Unfortunately it happens, and will always happen. It's in our nature. Some are able to suppress or only 'kill for good' (as in defend themselves). We did not cause other people to start killing Iraqis. They had people out to get them and have always had people wanting to get them. Same for us. We have people wanting us destroyed. Not a single country is enemy-free.
We (the American population/government officials, etc.) Are not terrorists. We are trying to bite off more than we can chew and we are trying to fix things we cannot fix. We were trying to make the place safer to live, better to live. When I say place I mean world. We cannot do that because there are too many cultural, religious, and personality differences and barriers.
America was trying to fix other people and ignore our own problems. My theory on why we do this is because we're ashamed or in denial about our own problems. We have our own wars going on here. Our own poverty, starvation, illnesses, etc. We need to fix ourselves up before going in to fix other countries (as if we're better than everyone else). It would help if people would do their part.
That is just my own words on all this from my opinions and what I know.

That's a good question. Sometimes these types of decisions must be weighed against the greater good. For instance, how many dead, innocent civilians will ultimately be slaughtered by this terrorist? A very small number of terrorists murdered almost three thousand innocent civilians on 9/11. Surely it would have been a tragedy had we been able to shoot these planes down before they hit their intended targets - a few hundred dead, innocent passengers - but given the limited choice, it would have been the best solution and would have saved thousands of lives. The number of innocent deaths likely from the planned attacks on American interests by this terrorist would be the determining factor if I had to make the decision.

RESPONSE TO QUESTION MARK
No, i don't get it...I really can't see this your way. If we didn't go to Iraq, people would still be under the evil dictatorship of Saddam hussein. Even though no Americans were killed, some Americans have this thing called compassion. We wanted to help out. There was evidence of Saddam building WMD's.
Either way:
How many times do I have to say this? We are fighting a WAR ON TERROR...terrorists live in Iraq. Terrorists have lived in Iraq. Terrorists create terror. We are currently fighting terror. Therefore...we fight terrorists...it isn't that trivial...or maybe it is for some people.
Anywho...WE HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE IN FIGHTING TERRORISTS. IRAQ WAS THE EASIEST TARGET.
Ya know, there are 7 suitcase nuclear bombs in the US right now...terrorists are waiting to strike very populated cities with them...to let you in on a little secret, those terrorists don't like us. They want to DESTROY US. But, I guess that desn't matter to people these days...i guess they'd rather complain about the war instead of supporting the troops and the rest of America in the takedown of these terrorists. But, that wouldn't be fair to the terrorists, that would hurt their feelings.
America needs to wake up. Terrorists are going to attack us soon. GW Bush, yeah, he has made some mistakes while in office, but he is trying to secure this nation. The country hired the president to do the job and I say it needs to be completed.
SCOTT M! Thank you for gathering this info...maybe now mr. question mark will understand some things.

To Scott M: Great job on research. Some people either forget about the not too distant past or they choose to ignore it. I remember quite clear what was being said just a few years ago. Now those same people want to criticize the current administration for acting on that same information. In my opinion, most of the people who is criticizing what is being done now, (the same people who said all those things that you quoted), are spineless wimps. They don't stand up for what they say. If they don't stand up for themselves, imagine what they would do for our country.

We didn't kill that many Iraqis.
It's Shiites killing Sunnis. Sunnis killing Shiites. We don't target innocent.
What part of Civil War don't you understand?
So you're saying our action is causing Shiite-Sunni killing?
So is it fair for me to say you're violating human rights law by buying iPods that are made in China where they ignore workers right, abuse workers, exploit child labor? Your action, buying cheap crap is causing abuse of workers. Right?
You should go to jail too may be. For buying Nike, shopping at Wal Mart. You're no better than anybody else in this country. Not to mention absurdity of your logic.
If Iraqis killing each other is our fault. It is also your fault...
Some Chinese kid losing finger in factory and not getting a penny.
Some guy in the US losing job because his job now moved to China.
Millions of other workers around the world going hungry, getting beat up to make you stupid toilet paper, shoes, plastic cups... many more.
That's all your fault. If you believe what Rosie says.
You buying cheap crap causes suffering of people around the world. You cause it. That's same logic that US led war is causing Iraqis suffering. Think about that.

Love it when the Right Wing nuts still trot out that Terrorists in Iraq nonsense.
They are right, though. There are terrorists in Iraq-now. They started coming when they realized there was no law, no order and the perfect chance to kill some underfunded, poorly prepared American troops.
Funny thing is that 19 of the hijackers were Saudis, and Osama was in Afghanistan.
But, sure, cling to that old discredited "don't let the smoking gun be a mushroom cloud" delusion.
Sigh.
Use facts indisputable facts, and 3 people give me a thumbs down. That says more about the people who frequent this place than anything else.

Rosie makes way off based 9-11 conspiracy theories that our government is behind the Killings of over 3,000 Americans. Please stop these stop 9-11 theories they all have been proven insane and it disrespect's the lives lost on that tragic day. Wake up America.
Rosie says the poor Terrorists who drive planes into Bldgs, blow up our Bases in Saudi Khobar Towers, killing 19 airman wounding 300 others in 96, or Blowing up 2 U.S. Embassy's in Africa in 98, or Blowing a Hole in the U.S.S. Cole, or terrorists who walk into Cafes with bombs strapped on them ARE MOTHERS AND FATHERS AND IT'S THE U.S. Fault.
I am former Military and Find Rosie's comments against our country UN-American. I am glad Elizabeth stood up and didn't back down.
Rosie is a left wing nut is who is a media pawn of Anti-American Propaganda machine like George Soros and her Left wing Nut Friends like MOVEON.ORG, Huffington Post, ETC.
It's one thing to disagree with our president but Rosie's and the LEFT WING NUTS INTHE COUNTRY, WHO HAVE THE HATRED TO OUR COUNTRY OR HARRY REID SAYING WE LOST THE WAR, IS UN-AMERICAN!!! FROM A FORMER SOLDIERS POINT OF VIEW

In March of 2003, I was dead set against the war. Flags were flying all over my neighborhood. Yet I told everyone it was a big mistake to invade Iraq. To put it mildy, I was indirectly insulted and treated like a 60s hippie. Today, I believe it's too late to pull out. Our dye is cast. If we pull out, WWIII in the Middle East begins within a year.
