Ok from the Senate Intel Report:
Months before the invasion of Iraq, U.S. intelligence agencies predicted that it would be likely to spark violent sectarian divides and provide al-Qaeda with new opportunities in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a report released yesterday by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Analysts warned that war in Iraq also could provoke Iran to assert its regional influence and “probably would result in a surge of political Islam and increased funding for terrorist groups” in the Muslim world.
The intelligence assessments, made in January 2003 and widely circulated within the Bush administration before the war, said that establishing democracy in Iraq would be “a long, difficult and probably turbulent challenge.” The assessments noted that Iraqi political culture was “largely bereft of the social underpinnings” to support democratic development.
So the decider knew in advance that it would be FUBAR and still went ahead, man how dumb is that?

Homeless what proof do you offer that the Congress saw these assessments back then? If there is some I'm more than eager to see it

Nothing more is required! OK; but I will add more.
He knows we are calling back up reservists and National Guard who haven't been home an adequate length of time and don't have proper equipment (but it is promised by deployment). He is extending tours of current soldiers. We have lowered the requirements for enlisting. The VA system is overloaded and we are outsourcing those services.
The Homeland Security hasn't handled Katrina. The tornados wildfires, floods are taxing it, too. How can it handle another hurricane season, an earthquake or terrorist attack on our soil ? They might need the National Guard, but they are in Iraq or Afganistan....
He should never have been elected by the chads and the Supreme Court!

The plan Bush is acting out his part in has no concern for material facts or dissenting views. Keep in mind the people were applauding Bush for going after those terrorists until the conflict began to drag on. Now many are trying to sanitize a institution that runs on filth. There is no cleansing solution for a govt that has lost its way, only a total erasure and a rebuild. That would be chaotic and make us just as vulnerable to manipulation as we currently are. The NAU might as well be formed because the USA as our forefathers desired it to be is no longer in existence. Maybe with help from Mexico and Canada we can save whats left of the late great country formerly known as the land of the free. Bush is actually very competent when viewed from the agenda that really runs things. Regarding doing what is important to us he seems incompetent. Keep in mind that "we the people" are only pawns and income sources for their machine.

"The intelligence assessments, made in January 2003 and widely circulated within the Bush administration before the war, said that establishing democracy in Iraq would be “a long, difficult and probably turbulent challenge.”"
Did Bush not tell the American people pretty much the same thing prior to the invasion when discussing a war on terror?
Incompetence, in my opinion, would have been to continue our policies of inaction and no effective response following over 25 years of the terror and murder of Americans all over the globe - finally culminating in the events of 9/11.
Sometimes the right policy is not easy - or popular - but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than giving up and caving into their demands.
