as I understand it, first, that trap door that the fuel nozzle pushes down, when you go to gas up?, won't let a siphon hose past it very far.... and second, it is said, that almost all fill tubes are bent just enough in a few places, that will not allow a siphon tube all the way down, no matter how hard it is pushed.

Every body seems to have their own ideas about this subject, but they are off just a tad on the flapper in the nozzle. The reason you can't run a hose down into the tank is an ingenious device to keep the gas from spilling if the vehicle is overturned. It is a ball in a cage on the inside end of the fill pipe that rolls into the pipe if the vehicle upsets. Only a very small hose will pass it. They have been around since 1978 that I know of.

Is the Pope Catholic? Anyone can siphon gas from your car anywhere at any time if they want it bad enough. Even big rig drivers will wake up in the morning and find one of two 150 gallon diesel tanks has been sucked dry while they slept in a truck stop surrounded by many eyes. There's all kinds of electric pumps that can do the job quickly and leave you high and dry.

Deing that todays gas ports( the place where you put the nossel fto fill your tank) there is a small metal flap.
It can still be done but it is hard to do as this spring loades flap tends to prevent you from removing a rubber hose from the flap.
I am not saying it cant be don but it is hard.
There is also a check ball in the fill tube that alsp prevents this from putting a hose in the hole.

I know on the old cars back in the 80-90's you can do it, but on the later models, I think they have a screen device leading to the gas tank to prevent this from happening
