It's part of a lifestyle where there are no consequences. When everything you do is done to excess what boundaries are left to test. Opiates have had a hold on mankind for the euphoria they create not the desire to become an addict, and until one witnesses first hand or experiences the price paid for instant joy the potential cost is incomprehensible. Now throw in the ego involved in the lifestyle of those you are questioning. The only way to shove aside the shame of physical and emotional addiction is to glorify the very thing that has destroyed you. Or it could just be they are dumb asses who can't learn from watching those around them forfeit all they hold dear(life itself included). If you figure it out let me know will you? By the way, you sound kind of bitter. Have you had a bad experience in this arena?

heroin is bad maan. Janis Joplin died cuz of it. Try smoking marijuana instead.
