Yes, I could change it but why should I when there is always a guy that volunteers to do it? Lol!

I would likely do it myself. My Echo is easy to change wheels, except I hate those blasted " do-nuts" they use for a spare now. I would get a new regular tire at the first garage that had them. You're not supposed to go far with those do-nuts anyway. They put those lug nuts on with an impact wrench, so, if I had any trouble getting them off, that's why I have CAA(same as AAA, only Canadian). Why would you be interested in whether other people could change a tire or not ? That's what intrigues me about you. You are hard to nail down, sort of a free spirit, which I think is alright !

I've changed a lot of tires myself, including one not too long ago when we ran over a bolt in Las Vegas and ruined a tire. However, we do have AAA Plus, so if my wife has any car problems while alone, she can just give them a call & not worry about it.

Well, assuming that time permits, I say "change it yourself." I would. I think it helps to add a bit of color (and dirt and oil) into your life by actually taking the time to fix things yourself. And at the end of the day, you can go home and tell your friends what a crappy day you had after having done it.

This helps them with their need to comfort you, while you gain a point in confidence for having done something independant. It's a win-win situtation. Don't you think?

I have always changed flats in the past and there is no reason to expect otherwise in the future.

I would be calling for help. Just to be sure. And be able to do it with help over the phone.
