I just saw some at a yard sale and I'm thinking about going back and buying them . I don't describe furniture very well, but they were high-back wooden chairs and had a label that said No. 960 and also said Sikes Chairs Buffalo N.Y.
The seat of the chair is basically a rectangular wooden seat , but within the borders it had an inset leather circle for a seat .
I've tried searching but can't find any with that number. . . 960 . I'm beginning to think they may be rare and any help would be appreciated .

Where else can I look , or maybe somewhere to call ?

Sounds like a mid 19th century gentleman's parlor chair. Women's chairs didn't have arms to accomodate their skirts. Check antique stores or reproduction furniture makers. Got a picture of it?
