Grrrr....I do all the cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, vacuuming, scrubbing, bathroom cleaning, etc. He doesn't do any of it except every once in awhile he vacuums and thinks I should be overjoyed. He also complains a lot because the place is never perfect. I work 25-45 hours per week. He's been home an awful lot lately. He plays on his computer most of the time. Should I go on Strike?

I have done it in the past. When I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown due to over work (household chores are thankless ones too) I simply locked myself in my room and refused to do anything till I felt better. My room is fully furnished with TV, music system, books etc. so I could keep myself occupied. My husband cooked and delivered food in my room and did all the other tasks as per his ability.

I felt much better after 2 days rest and was able to perform better even though the house was not in a good shape, but the experience was worth it....

I totally feel your pain. I have often considered a strike as well but in the end...the only person who would be the least bit annoyed by my strike would be ME because nothing would be done during my strike and would be left for me to do anyhow. So, what's the point in letting it pile up only for me to have to catch it all up anyways.

don't, you need to negotiate. Going on strike will only make it worse, though i think that sometimes going on strikes works

Strike h*ll you need to QUIT. Hire a maid and use HIS money to pay her. Maybe then he'll learn how valuable you are.

I have tried it... it really doesn't work because when you go back to work there is an even bigger mess for you to clean up.. good luck if you do try..

Sure, but you'll end up cleaning it anyway. Best not to get behind.
