I make a point to do that at least 30 minutes each day.

In an invited gathering I would feel silly sitting quietly without talking to anyone. People may think me arrogant or grumpy. But while on a walk in the evenings I sometimes rest on a bench and observe things and people. I like that too.....

Not really cuz I don't want some werido guy catching my eye and thinking I'm staring at him. I do like to people watch but mainly I like to enjoy the few moments of silence I can get and stare off into nothing

I totally agree with May a... you need to just be quiet and observe what is going around. YOu learn alot like that. I do it alot. Sometimes I just go to the mall sit on a bench and observe people. I love doing that.

Sure, why not. Being observant is a good thing. But don't ignore them if someone talks to you. Otherwise it ends up rude.

Yes, and I found it quite relaxing. Artists do it, thinkers do it, intellegent people do it. I recommend it to anyone. However, if you do it for too long, other people will start looking at YOU.
