well...since the amount doubles every day, you would do 1+2+4+8+16+32+64, etc. do each # doubled until you have thirty numbers. then add all the numbers together. it comes up to be...um...let me see...$10, 737, 418.23. hope this helps!

Make a chart of Days versus Pennies Received. You'll get 1 penny on day 1, 2 on day 2, 4 on day 3, 8 on day 5, etc. Generally, then the formula for the number of pennies received on a particular day is 2^(n-1) where n is the number of days. On day 30, you'll get about $5.4 million.
What you want is the sum though of all the money received. The general formula for that is summation (i.e. big sigma) of 2^(n-1) where n spans from 1 to 30.
I don't know of a real easy way to do that by hand. You could, of course, write out all 30 terms and then add manually. I used Excel and that was how I got the $10.7 million figure above.

well i am busy right now so i'll help you but i dont have the answer exactly ok.take 1 double it then take to and double it then take 4 and double it and then 8 and doulbe it then so on and so on then add up all the numbers ok.
