It is by a duo called Waycross. They have a myspace page with the song on the page. The lead vocals are sung Ted Moxley and the backing vocals are done by Ben Stennis. They are currently unsigned; so I don't think they have released the song for sale.

As far as the lyrics go...

19 was the number on his back, voted captain of his highschool football team, made it all the way to state, had a scholarship to play down at tennessee, he could run, he could duck,he could throw, he could go, like you never seen...19

but on the day those twin towers came down, his whole life turned around, he told them all, yall i can't play ball there's war on now, so he marched right in,with a few good men and joined the marines...at 19

he's the boy next door, he used to carry your bag at the grocery store he's somebody's son in a hole with a gun in a foreign land, tryin to hold on to his american dream...19

there's a sniper out there, in the dark somewhere, and a soldier down, we need someone who can run and duck, and get him out somehow, won't one good man raise his hand and take one for the team...how bout you nineteen

they brought him home today, with a big parade, down on main street, ____________, a soldier gave a speach, he could run he could duck, he could throw he could go, he's the one who rescued me.....he said he could have played for tennessee...19

.....i can't remember one line in the last verse; so take a listen

Nineteen Somethin'
Mark Wills

FEATURED ON

Mark Wills Greatest Hits

I saw Star Wars at least eight times
Had the pac-man pattern memorized
And I've seen the stuff they put inside
Stretch Armstrong

I was Roger Staubach back in my back yard
Had a shoebox full of baseball cards
And a couple of Evil Kinevil stars
On my right arm
Well, I was a kid when Elvis died
And my mama cried

Chorus:
It was 1970-something
In the world that I grew up in
Farrah Faucett hair-do days
Bell bottoms and eight-track tapes
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
It was 1970-something

It was the dawning of a new decade
When we got our first microwave
And Dad broke down and finally shaved
Those sideburns off
I took the stickers off of my Rubix cube
Watched MTV all afternoon
My first love was Daisy Duke
In them cut off jeans
A Space Shuttle fell out of the sky
And the whole world cried

Chorus:
It was 1980-something
In the world that I grew up in
Skating rinks and Black Trans Ams
Big hair and parachute pants
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
It was 1980-something

Now I got a mortgage and an SUV
But all this responsibility
Makes me wish sometimes
Sometimes....

Chorus:
It was 1980-something
In the world that I grew up in
Skating rinks and Black Trans Ams
Big hair and parachute pants
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
But I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
It was 1980-something

1970-something
Aw, it was 19-Something.....

It's not new. The song was actually released a year or so ago...at least where I live. His name is Shane Owens. He also released a song called "Bottom of the Fifth".
