When Chuck Berry was asked when he wrote "Johnny B Goode" he was blunt and said he stole it. That's just the way he thought when it came to your influences. Subconsciously you can't prevent those influences slipping into you own creativity. That's why some artist are proud when a fan says they sound like so & so. Because it's their favorite artist. Music is a continued evolution and on occasions a few giants will change the order and the status quo and many make a social and sometime political impact and those are the ones that stand above, that everyone can trace their own influences to. Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton. These are all artist that crashed through barriers and opened "The Doors" to new directions. I'm thankful for everyone of them, even the ones I don't really listen to anymore, but I can hear their presence in today's modern forms of music! Will S

Don't you mean you wouldn't have half the bands you have today. You're not alone on this, most of the people in the Rock & Pop category love classic rock.

Classic rock is great. I think you're completely right. Just like Elvis and the Beatles, whether you like them or not, were the start of "rock n roll". So people can complain, but get over it.

I understand exactly what you are saying. But there is no reason to be obnoxious about listening to classic rock...
