I am a Language Arts teacher and I teach a unit on speech. The main thing is not so much WHAT you demonstrate, as the fact that you need to keep talking. I have had students give demonstrations speeches with literally saying 10 words this is not a speech. Keep talking during those awkward moments when you may be doing something not so thrilling to watch---say things like: "I am putting these small pink flowers on, but you of course could choose any type of decoration you wish" small helpful hints like that make a speech ROCK! OK, some of the best I have seen are: Putting together a homemade gift basket(ROCKED), how to make brownies (came with the brownies already prepared, and demonstrated the process of putting them together) how to use a hair straightener, origami, and believe it or not a great speech about how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich--she had lots of historical information about peanut butter about peanut butter sandwiches about the many different variations of the peanut butter sandwich statistics on Americana's consummation of peanut butter---so when I say it does not matter what you do I mean it, just have awesome information---really do your research on your topic, you'll be great

You could demonstrate how to make something. For example I made sushi in my speech class and explained the benefits of seaweed. Stick with something you know well, like styling hair (ask for a volunteer). You could even demonstrate how to study well, like first look at any pictures, then read the captions, then read the summary, then read the chapter, take notes while reading, and ask yourself questions you think the teacher would ask. Another thing you could demonstrate (if you're into sports), is the correct way to swing a bat, golf club, stretch before working out, or lift weights. Good luck!

Does the school have an ICT room where you could demonstrate how to use Yahoo answers or the equipment to set up a demo somewhere else?
What other strengths or skills do you have? Whaterver it is rehearse it and your speech in front of a willing audience and be prepared for hiccups.

How about making copies of your question and handing them out to everyone in the class. Then demonstrate how to do a spell check on the computer or how to look up words you can't spell in the dictionary. You made 5 spelling errors. You could also demonstrate how to capitalize the first word in a sentence.

Do you know how to do any easy origami stuff? That wouldn't be messy and maybe the class could even follow along. Do something that you really know, so that if you get thrown off, you don't struggle with the next step.

Tell the audience first "I have butterflies in my stomach and I am trying to bring them in formation" then make a presentation of what you really know would increase the knowledge of your audience.

How about something like how to blow a bubble with bubble gum, or how about how to carve a pumpkin.

If those are to easy, then how about how to solve some difficult math problem or how about how may ways there are to eat a carmel apple.
