on december 21 2012 the world is supposed to end. wil this actually ever happen?

Interesting question...
What is doomsday? In the eighties the komet kohotec or something was near earth
and there were a lot of "prophets" claiming
"the world will go under" but it didn´t. They are "energy-thives" trying to scare people.
HOWEVER the world will go under BUT
before that happens.. the human race will
cease to exist.. as did the dinosaurs...
There will be other species that are fit to
survive.
In the meantime your soul will survive in
a lot of exitances/ lives perfectly in accordance with the plan of god, ouer
creator. So there is nothing to be afraid of,
really.
Just cultivate/ develop thy character and
thats it.
So my answer relating to doomsday
december 21 20 12 (a friday by the way),
be not surprised because all false prophets
have been wrong before and doomsday will
not occur, I think :)

The claimed 2012 doomsday is a hoax. Everything the scam artists are saying about 2012 is a lie. The Mayan calendar doesn't end, it just recycles. The Maya didn't predict anything for 2012. They didn't make prophecies, but used their calendar for things like when to plant and harvest their crops and predicting eclipses. No one predicted it before the hoaxers started claiming it. None of it is said or supported by scientists. All the claimed astronomical events are either impossible or have no effect on us. The Solar maximum is now expected to occur in May 2013 and won't hurt us. It could interfere with electronics and communications. We aren't going to have any alignments aside from the approximate alignment that occurs every year at the December solstice. Geomagnetic reversal (polar reversal) takes hundreds to thousands of years to occur. We wouldn’t even feel it happening. Swine flu has only a 10% mortality rate, as compared to 70% for the 2007 outbreak of Avian flu. Nibiru doesn't exist. It came from Z. Sitchen's misinterpretation of ancient Sumerian references to the planet Jupiter. Even Sitchen didn't claim it would come back in 2012 (he said 2085). Nancy Lieder, who hears aliens in her head and originally said her "Planet X" would be here in 2003) took over Sitchen's imaginary planet and changed her doomsday date to 2012 when her original prediction failed. Zombies don't exist. That covers most of the absurd claims. The world will still be here after 2012, along with most of us.

Of course not.
Remember 7 years ago, the year 2000 bug that was supposed to wreak havok because computer systems were programmed with only 2 digits for the year? Well december 21 2012 is the same thing except it is the Mayan calendar that is going full circle. No one uses the Mayan calendar anymore.

Well there are a lot of ways doomsday could happen, it cant be predicted to a specific day, however in the future in 60.4 million years the sun will go supernova and destroy our solar system. But us stupid but advanced humans will end up chaotically causing the human era to stop in the next 200 thousand years, say for example, scientists decide to upgrade holding facilities for viruses and it goes wrong and wipes the humans out. It will happen but not necessarily on 21 2012, why I say it will happen its because the sun is dying, eventually all stars die forming a black hole, that's what'll happen with our sun so the world will not last for eternity

Suspect all dire predictions as fabrications with a motive(s). A pragmatic approach to 'doomsday', is that at death, we all succumb to our personal 'doomsday'. I doubt it matters if we go alone or with the company of billions.
