As a vet I will attend the services at Riverside National Cemetery. I will honor the final resting places of those that did not return as fortunate as I. My family and I will pay our respects to the memorial to all the Congressional Medal of Honor awardee's. The names of every recipient and every battle is engraved in the black granite. We will pray for those that serve our country now. It is important to me because as a young teenager I was in several firefights that friends lost their lives in. Those memories are with me every day. I honor those that did not return, not just because they were fighting for our country and for which it stands, but because we were fighting to keep each other alive.

We Remember and Honor, our Fallen Heroes, on this Day,
We Think of Them often, Their Sacrifice is not in Vain, We
enjoy Freedom because , they were Brave Enough to Love Their Country and Fellow Americans, that they, Put their Lives in Harms Way, and paid the Ultimate Price.
God Bless our Troops and Commander in Chief.

Because they sacrificed their lives for not just you, me, and America, but for all peoples. All countries. FFS! What would Uganda, or Argentina, for examples, have done without OUR soldier's in WWI, and WWII????? It would be very hard understanding, even to a German, a hispanic who spoke German with a hispanic accent, and vise-versa, for an African accent speaking German. You can take the language out of a fool, but never their accent!

As a Veteran of this Iraq war, I belive its important to remember my friends who have given the ultimate sacrafice, as well as all the others throughout history because they have paid the price for your freedom. They paid the price for you to be able to log onto your computer and put a question like that out there. They paid for your right to question your government, protest it and even make changes to it if you want. They made the ultimate sacrafice, and they did it for you, without even knowing who you are.

That is why i think its important! I hope this answers your question!

Because they put their lives on the line sothat we can be free. The least we could do for such a selfless act is to recognize the sacrifice they have made and remember them on this day.
