Is the fan on top of the PC stopped or erratic?
Is the case clean of dust , exhaust vents or holes not clogged
with dust or cat hair ?
Is the computer placed away from the wall so that the exhaust can blow out of the computer when you have it at home ?
You can add extra fans - they are inexpensive
You can replace the fan on top of the cpu
Who knows maybe one of the fans is simply uplugged.
There is usually a setting in the bios ( computer health) or something like that where there is a switch to turn off the computer when the heat reaches a certain degree.
Usually you can read the temperature ( CPU is what you want not so much motherboard)
Follow that .
If may be that your computer runs at x+ 2 temperature
and the computer is set to turn off at X temperature
I would be careful about setting this too high or turning it off.
I would check that setting . It may be set too low.
Clean the inside of the case and vents with compressed air or a vacuum. Keep it clean.
Add at least one case fan if you think that the cpu fan is ok.
( may be a good idea to replace anyways as your computer is overheating and it is probably a good idea to replace)
Then maybe set the safety temp up a tad.
Just so you know heat is the biggest enemy of newer computers.
AMD Cpus generally run hotter than Intel cpus
CPU temps in the 40's and lower 50's are ok

You may of installed an extra device or two along the way - video card , dvd burner anything that gives out heat and now the computer needs more cooling.
There are fancy fans with lights even

a useful computer hardware diagnostic program

Celar the vents. Blow the chassiswith a can of air. Get a better heatsink, reflash the bios (the temp guage that sets the fan speed is part of the bios). Get a better fan

yea i have a few ideas, is the case cleaned out and free of dust ?

Is there enough air getting to it where u have it ?

Did a fan die in the system ?

I suggest buying another fan and installing it in the case, and if that does not work, get a bigger heatsink for ur processor.
