Hmmm, if you would like people to answer you seriously, you need to use proper manners. I would like to think when talking to people in 'real life' you do this. Just because you are talking to an unknown entity it does not mean you can be rude.
You might notice that most of the answers you are receiving are not actually responding to your query with legitimate answers. This is because of the way you chose to phrase this. Or maybe you actually think the answers are good ones. In that case , well, I won't even go there...
By the way, the purpose of this area of Yahoo! Answers is NOT to do your homework. If you need an answer for school and posted in the Homework section, people there might react in a more positive manner.
My suggestion (not that you most likely are in a mode to listen) would be to ask...something like. " What was Ben Franlin's most important contribution? I think that it could be X, Y, or Z? What do you think?"
If phrased this way, peope will know that you put some effort into this and be more likely to give you their thoughts on the matter.
Also, to rely totally on responses from this website is not a really smart move. You do not know who is responding and could be led down the wrong path. If you use the 'turkey' response in an assignment for school, the teacher might wonder about your analytic abilities and it could prove to be rather embarrassing to you. Your class would get a good laugh at your expense. I don't think that is what you would want.

Franklin's greatest contribution would have to be his persuasion of the French to join the colonial's side in the Revolutionary War. The French and English hated each other for centuries, and to a point still do, but the French were in doubt about the ability for our nation to just win, forget flourish as it did. Franklin helped dissuade their fears and they joined us in the battle.
As much as I hate saying this, without the French, we would not have won the war, or it would have lasted months, if not years, longer.
And there is no need to bring Masonic membership into the conversation, whether you are one or not. No one really cares what fraternal order they belonged to, just that they did what they could for their beliefs of liberty and freedom.
