Both parties serve corporate interests. That will only be changed when the public begins tossing out the scoundrels by the truckloads when they refuse to make mandatory changes in laws applying to elections, term limits and lobby or special interest groups, which the public insists upon having established. Until then, we will have the same old status quo, and it will be our own fault for being too complacent. It's time for a new order to be imposed on government by the will of the people.

Sadly, I don't believe any politician--Republican or Democrat--achieves what he or she wants to achieve. Politics in any society based on democratic principles requires compromise. As such, to get, politicians have to give. Many politicians justifiably believe they must protect corporations to ensure the public retains jobs and corporations remain in the United States. Others, again justifiably, believe labor must be served at corporate expense.
Democrats, like Republicans, by and large seek to serve the public good according to their perception of how that might be achieved. Hence, yes, Democrats seek to serve the public good.

Neither. They serve themselves.
