I can't believe I'm quoting "Road House" but, "Be nice, until it's time to not be nice."
That has carried me well so far.

I agree with firespider... Be nice until you feel the situation calls for otherwise. Then kick alot of butt!
Being nice first does make kicking butt more effective when it's needed.
