Depends on both your doc and how eventful your pregnancy is. My OB/GYN does a transvaginal ultrasound at the first prenatal appointment (about 8-10 weeks) to date and check the baby. Other docs only perform the "major" ultrasound at around 20 weeks. If you experience any bleeding or heavy cramping your doc might perform one at that time to check on the baby.

My first one with both pregnancies was at 10 weeks. You should see your doctor anywhere between 8 and 12 weeks, and he'll do a quick scan during your first visit.

So long as your pregnancy is progressing normally the only scan that will probably be done is around the 20 week mark

If you live in the UK they normally give you a dating scan at 12 weeks!

1st scan is at about 12 weeks. They'll measure it and check the heartbeat.

With my first son it was at 9 weeks and my second son was at 13 weeks...its to see where at in the uterus the baby attached, how far along you are, and how the baby is developing

well they usually send you when you are 18-20 weeks unless there is something wrong or you are completely unaware of when you may have conceived, i got an ultrasound when i was 10 weeks to find out my due date, but other than that you will have to wait it out till 18-20 weeks
