I am a retired Police Officer from the Ca. Az. Mexico border. We turned illegals over to the Border Patrol everyday. Every Police Officer that takes the oath, swears to enforce all laws. State, local and FEDERAL. Police departments enforce Federal drug laws everyday, but sanctuary cities order their police not to enforce the immigration laws. This is a violation of the U.S. Government Code. It is also called an Act of Omission by the police and in some states it can be prosecuted. The politicians say we cannot return 12 to 20 illegals to their country of origin. Not with that attitude we can't. Police should be checking for the status of those they suspect of being here illegal. They are not that difficult to find. If the police in cities such as San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles would stop ignoring the problem and enforce the law, we would be able to put a dent in those here using more in Government services than they pay in taxes. I believe if law enforcement did it's job we could greatly reduce the number of illegals here. We should at least try. The long term effects on Medicare and Social Security will be devastating to those that are paying in now and will retire in 20 years. Police Officers across the Nation come into contact with illegals everyday.

The problem here is that you believe both parties want to send illegal immigrants packing. You're wrong though. Both parties WANT illegal immigrants here because it is a benefit to both parties.

The Republicans like them because they are a source of very cheap labor for a lot of corporations, which means a larger chunk of change ends up going to their campaigns.

The Democrats like them because the vast majority of them will have children (making them legal citizens) and most will vote Democrat.

Both parties benefit from immigration to some degree. So you'll here a lot of lip servioce to placate the masses, but you won't really see much in the way of progress.

never going to happen, you need to be realistic, we are never going to deport 10-20 million people, that will NEVER happen, the best you can hope for is to get the government to lock down our borders to prevent any further illegal immigration and then put the majority of illegals here on a path to becoming legal citizens

the only thing you are accomplishing by demanding that all illegals be deported is preventing any real progress on closing the border to illegals

I am ready to close the borders but building them cost big $$ the best way to convince our citizens is to tell them we are losing more money each year because of illegal immigration, that we could actually profit if we close our borders

actually it would take a lot of brain work. think it through...where do you get the manpower, equipment, funding, etc.. it would require an effort at least as involved as the current adventure in Iraq. and you would volunteer how much of your time? since it's such an important issue for you.

"both parties want illegals sent back"? where did you come up with this fantasy?

The left wants them here because if they make them instant citizens, sign them up for the "motor voter" registration program when they get a drivers license... suddenly, the Democrats have 12 million or more new constituents.

All the polls show that the "overwhelming majority" of Americans don't want our borders closed and don't want to deport the illegals--they want immigration reform.

And Congress is listening to them--not to the right-wing racists who lie about being anything other than a fring minority of whackos and criminals like the "minutemen," the KKK, and such trash. That's NOT America.

Americans are to fat and lazy to do that.

We would have to hire Illegals to hunt down and deport themselves.

Go Team Fat and Lazy Go
