Lust like a normal PC, real printers are better than all in ones, but take up less space. If you want a portable printer canon is the best. If just using it in home and hooking to the notebook, any brand is good. I recommend, epson,hp or canon.

If you don't take teh expensive wireless / LAN route, it will have to be a fairly new printer, as most laptops dont have parrellel ports so you need a USB one

It's most convient to get a printer with built in wireless so you dont' have to make a connection to print.

you can connect any printer to your laptop as long as you have the right connection check and see what type of connection you have on your laptop Lpt usb etc.
