Hello, my Intel Centrino laptop is aged more than it has been used the TFT is beautiful gifts15 inch display, under Vista "Windows experience" then everything is graded 3.0 or above. However the graphics gets a failing rating; I'm not interested in the very low quality new laptops from China! So I want to purchase a graphics card and have it professionally installed, I see that you can mail it in to places, the trouble is posed to do so high. And that I have to wait forever/here in town staples will charge about $160 plus tax to create a card that I buy separately. How do I find someone local that is not so expensive? -- I can't ask the manufacturer because they no longer offers support on the old laptop. (It is four years old)

Actually, thats a good price ($150). I do not think itwas a good idea to put vista on such an old computer. XP is much better for that type of computer. If you want a new one, there is a compac for 399 this weekend at many retailers. It is very low end but probably a little better than what you have now. In July there will be some killer deals. If you need one right now, there is a Dell 1501 that my car dealer whould call "nicely configured" for 499 this weekend only. It's not supe high end, but it is solidly ranked better than most 900 dollar computers. Next week the same notebook should be about 70-100 more.

i do not belive u can upgrade the gpu in laptops, but even if u can i suggest not getting the upgrade and wait and buy a new laptop casue the new ones have a 2 core processor ( C2D)

Yea i agree with the person above me, macs r not everything, and i as well am sitting at 1

and do not, do not buy a cheap computer what ever u do, save up and get a good 1 that can handle Vista Ultimate. 1 that has a dedicated Graphics card. The cheap ones will only run vista basic and would be worse than the one u currently have.

Look in your local paper or yellow pages or similar for a business in your area that deals with computers. they will be more than happy to help you.
