were slightly different from those given by the ISP. Does it matter if we're still able to connect to the internet?

If your internet browsing is working the DNS has to be. I wouldn't worry about it at all. ISPs often change dns servers to load balance them anyway.

Most ISPs now days are Dynamic, so they change your IP and other numbers automatically so that there is an even load across their network. If you can connect to the internet, theres nothing to worry about.
