Just be sure that the drive is seen in BIOS and you should have no problems at all. Most new computers can use a mix of SATA and ATA (IDE) drives without a great deal of fuss. The motherboard firmware will take care of the details so you just install XP as usual.

If it is SATA HDD before start installing XP u want to Install the SATA Drivers. It is shown down for pressing i think it is F8 for RAID during Windows XP installation. At that time u are required to put the respective floppy disk containing SATA drivers. If it is not with u download from ur manufactures website.

Drivers for what exactly? Just install Windows XP, doesn't matter what kind of hard drive you have. I'm assuming this hard drive was already installed on a motherboard that has the correct reisers and is capable of SATA interface?

The drivers are there in the motherboard . All u need is the disc which u got with ur motherboard . This disc contains softwares that would install those drivers on the computer ( like for audio u might need 'ALC' , for onboard video u might need 'VGA' etc... )
