Indeed it is! In fact, Castor (Alpha Geminorum in the constellation of Gemini) is a system of 6 (yes, you read that right, 6) stars! Pretty cool, huh?

Yes, there are many binary stars, as well as multiple stars with three or more stars orbiting each other. At the extreme, there are globular clusters in which there may be a million stars gravitationally bound together.

Yes. Nearly half the stars in the sky are binary star systems. Very pretty to look at through a telescope, if they are of contrasting colours or brightnesses, such as Alberio in Cygnus.

While many binary star systems are found in nature, the dynamics of systems with three stars are such that sooner or later one of them will slingshot out of orbit with the other two. Trinary star systems are inherently unstable.

Actually a star like our Sun, which is alone and solitary, is the exception to the norm. Most stars have one or more companions.

I just realized something: kilopapa above was being incredibly SARCASTIC! At first, I did not see how someone can make such an incredibly ignorant assertion. Especially when the answer appeared to be written by someone with at least average intelligence. NOW I get it!!

Yes it is, if their masses not extrodinarily different and there are no other forces, the stars will rotate about their center of mass

No they cannot. if two stars come into the same galaxy the gravitational pull will make it so that they both come colliding together and will make a giant, fiery explosion call a Super Nova which will probably destroy many galaxies.
