I'm amused how Boston fans crown themselves World Chamions and unbeatable right now having the best record in the A.L.(barely) in a pathetic division. While Cleveland is in the best division with a 29-17 record-with their 1-3 starting pitchers a a combined 17-3 with a 3.41 ERA. I recognize Boston's bullpen is stronger then Clevealnd's and that won't change. But these Cleveland starters are averaging 8 innings a game. I don't believe Boston's hitting is better. Once again a product of Teeing off on the A.L. East. If you could set your starting rotation and throw CC Sabathia vs Josh Beckett, Curt Schilling vs Fausto Carmona, and Paul Byrd vs this DICE K--how is Cleveland at that much of a disadvantage? Actually considering he has completely overwhelmed Johan Santana twice this year and posts a 6-1 record with a ERA in the mid 2's-I'd throw Carmona at Beckett. And Cleveland will hit Dice K, you can bet on that. Why do people give Cleveland zero chance?

Hey Balzzy...yes, I can see how NYY have so much more talent then Cleveland. Steamrolled in the playoffs?
The regular season has been what Boston has lived by--and October has been what Boston has died by. You chows ain't got what it takes. Sizemore, Martinez,Carmona,CC,Blake,Hafner and the rest of the boys willbe licking their chops in the fall.

Warren-fortunately for Boston they have to face Lee,Sowers and Byrd...my question said "1-3 vs 1-3 in a rotation matched series". We will still beat you twice in Fenway this week even with our 3-5 pitchers.

Indians are doing well, no question. Sox have earned that best record in baseball but I don't think they're playing the season at .680. That being said I'd worry about the following
before I'd worry about the Sox.
The other Sox.
The Tigers (nice job by The Tribe last night, lets see a split in the next two and take the series)
Road record (12-13 on the road so far)
By the way Red Sox looked pretty unbeatable around this time last year if memory serves and and where did they end up?

I am an Indians fan also, the only thing that scares me is the ineviditable choke at some point, being a Cleveland sports fan since the mid 80s when I knew what was going on, I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop. But you're right, everyone is crowning Boston when Cleveland's lineup is arguably better and their starting pitching is arguably just as good if not better with Beckett out. I would be willing to say Cleveland has better power even, like you said Cleveland's pen is their weakness, but they will score runs on Boston and have a great shot at taking the series and beating them in the playoffs if they can hold on for the AL Central crown or at least hopefully the wild card.

I'm a Tiger fan and much like Detroit, Cleveland gets no publicity at all. Take for example that the you have two of the best teams in baseball facing each other today in the Tigers and Indians. Will this game be on National TV? Not here on the West coast. Cleveland does play in the toughest division in baseball. If they were in the East, they would have the best record in baseball no question.

What is it that Chris Berman says? "That's why they play the game. " I'm a Boston fan who doesn't think they're invincible, but it's hard to say how good a team really is until they play a lot of good teams head to head, everything else is just guesswork. The Central division is definitely tough this year, maybe the wild card will come out of there too. But Boston has a feel of the 2004 season again, good pitching and timely batting. They're still not consistent, but they're getting better.

Hey, I'm a Yanks fan, but I like the Tribe too...Hell, I like any team that's not the Sox. It's really kind of messed up that people don't give the Indians a chance. They've had REALLY good pitching lately. And their lineup is really amazing. I'd like to see where they go this season. It's also messed up that people also don't give a lot of other teams a chance. There are a lot of underrated teams in baseball.

Give me a break. Cleveland nor any central team compare to the Sox. As a matter of fact the only teams that are even remotely close to the Red Sox in talent are the Yankees and Mets. Have fun in the regular season because come playoff time its Steam roll time for the Red Sox.

i think of the purple Sox will win in 6 video games. The communities are very reminiscent of one yet another. i think of the sequence would be close, yet i think of that great Papi and Manny will step it up much extra throughout this sequence. it is going to additionally be exciting to verify if Josh Beckett may be as dominate as he grow to be interior the 1st activity against the Angels, and that i think of something of pitching paintings tension has to pitch as much as their potenial.
