It is Pentium III Windows 2000 professional operating system, I am unable to start the computer so how do I erase this username and pswd?

If it's Windows that's locked, you can't do anything without a name and password. Ask the person you bought it from, that information should have been included.

If the computer itself is locked, it never gets past the initial text screen, look at the user manual. Most computer makers provide a way to override the BIOS password, though it probably involves open the computer and moving a switch or jumper.

(So if you want to lock your computer with a BIOS password, you also have to padlock the case.)
