NO!
when you get a tat your body goes into a mild 'shock' (due to mild pain) which could effect the baby. i know it suxs to wait...i had JUST picked out my next tat when i found out i was pregnant w/my daughter.
i waited till she was born. 3 weeks after birth i got my tat.
i am pregnant again, and am waiting again...

According to the American Pregnancy Association, the biggest concern with getting inked during pregnancy is the risk of HIV and Hepatitis infection. They also state that there haven't been enough studies to confirm that the ink won't have an effect on your unborn child.
But even if these things weren't a concern, you still should wait on that tattoo. Your body chemistry changes during pregnancy; the colors are likely to turn funky. (Incidentally, getting your hair dyed is considered safe by most doctors, but hair dressers recommend against doing it. Women who want red hair end up with blue hair, curly hair end up with straight hair, and every weird thing in between).
If you're really wanting to adorn yourself, how about a henna "tattoo"? Make sure it's "natural" henna and not "black" henna (black henna has dangerous chemicals in it). This alternative is perfectly safe (no needles!) and if it turns weird colors, at least you know it'll wash off in a week or so. :)
p.s. If you still decide to get a tattoo, think twice before getting one on your back. You won't be able to get an epidural if you do!

Hi, as someone who appreciates the art of the "Ink"
I suggest you wait..,
Take into consideration that when you are being tattooed, the high speed inking needles pierce's your skin and you don't know how your body is going to react to this...
...having another LIFE inside you, you must consider that, If you feel ill that little person inside you will feel ill too..,
...So what I'm trying to get to is, if just in case that your body didn't react well with the ink, you are risking that little guy inside you as well.
Hope you reconsider and take care & good luck on that little guy

Its not suggested due to your changing body and alot of tattoo places wont tattoo a pregnant woman. Its not so much the ink anymore because they are veggie based inks now. I would wait until after your baby is born.

Most tattoo places won't ink you if they know you're pregnant. And I wouldn't even risk it!!! Because you never know what's on those needles and if your body is going to have some kind of reaction to the metal in the needle (my aunt did this) if it's your first tattoo- why put your childs life/health in danger?

Hi, Even if you attend a reputable tattoo parlour tattoo's should not be undertaken during pregnancy because of the high risk of infection.

The ink from the needles goes into your blood stream, which flows directly to your baby; it is not a good idea.
