Ties affect performance?

I heard from one of my friend that wearing a necktie during an exam may affect the performance of the exam. is that true? if it is, why is it so?

No. It only works if you *believe* it will.

I can't believe it will work any better than a four leaf clover or a rabbit's foot or any other good luck tokenl.
