Because I saw it with some friends...and we had to turn it off in like the first half hour, because there was such a brutal rape scene. What did you think of it? I still can't get some of those images out of my head...

I saw it. It's, without a doubt, the most violent movie ever made. Like Saving Private Ryan times a hundred, or Passion of the Christ times a million.
It's actually banned in, like, fifty countries. Six real animals were actually killed on screen. When it first came out, people actually thought the actors were really killed during the making and there was a lot of controversy over it.
The next movie you should watch is Caligula, with Malcolm McDowell.

I haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust yet but my sis has it, i just don't know if I'll have the strength to watch another cannibal movie after I've seen the film "Cannibal" by Marian Dora, it's a true story based on Armin Meiwes search thru the internet for someone who'd like to be slaughtered and eaten. I've recovered a bit already but there are scenes I just can't get out of my head. I suggest we stop watching this genre of films before we have to seek professional help LOL

...once the viewer can bravely traverse the bloody and brutal overlaying landscape of this shocking film, and not only see the relevant, poignant and underlying social commentary within, one can also see that the film HAS served as inspiration for other films...

...think about it!!! A group of kids disappear while filming footage of their findings and surroundings; after some time, someone else goes in, discovers the kids' film footage, and upon playing the footage, finds out what REALLY happened to them...

...after this description, if I didn't realize that I was about to watch "Cannibal Holocaust", I'd swear that I was about to watch "The Blair Witch Project".
