note that it is not just whites, that is not the point of my question, people of all bacgrounds and skin colors go and catch rays nowadays. just my opinion, but i rarely find people who actually look good with tan. whether your a nicole kidman or a jennifer lopez or a beyonce, sorry , you just looked burned.... i'm about the same complexion as mrs j.lo and i could never imagine purposely roasting myself. just help me understand why do people tan, most people are fine the way they are regardless of where you fall on the color line

i don`t like my natural skin tone, which is fair & yucky white...i look & feel better tan!!!

Well, a tan gives a golden colour. And, a lot of people dig that! I'm not white, nor am I black. I'm an in-between and a lot of people wonder whether I tan to get my colour. The truth is that I spend a considerable time outdoors anyway, 'cos my job allows me to have a very active lifestyle. Hence, I stay fit and don't have to spend money on tan sprays or tanning beds or even waste time laying out in the sun. I guess I'm lucky!

I don't know why people go tanning. I am white as a ghost and I LOVE it!!! I think people who have incredibly pale skin are gorgeous.

well, since you have a naturally dark complexion you wouldn't understand. i think everyone looks better tan-people say it makes you look healthy. but, people do it because they want to be tan, simple as that.
