anyone know what kind of oil to use? help!

They recommend straight 30 weight oil for all lawn engines, It's better than the multigrade in heavy use engines.

The keyway is what keeps the pulley that's connected to the crank from 'spinning' free when the engine's running. There is a bolt, usually a 3/8" (possibly reverse thread) bolt. Remove the bolt and if the pulley doesn't come off easily, use a gear puller. The "harmonic balancer" (first post) is actually call the flywheel although it serves the same purpose as a harmonic balancer. It's located at the top of the engine. It's attached the same way as the bottom pulley but the new engine will be equiped with one already. Once the pulley is removed, there are 4 bolts holding the motor to the lawn mower base. That's pretty much all that is needed except for throttle cable and any wires that are attached.
