Well' you need to start with raw steam, but this all depends on the size of the bucket. For a 1 gallon bucket a single bucket should do but the Raw Steam must be cooked thoroughly some like to add wine and garlic and butter to the raw steam.before cooking. clams will open after the raw steam has cooked enough.
