One of my hamsters nails are really long and i want to cut it (only a little bit). But the thing is i never heard of someone clipping their hamsters nails. This may seem weird but some of his nails are disgustingly long. I know that you can't cut the nail too short or else he will bleed but do you think that i could cut it a little bit with my guinea pigs nail clippers?

It's not unusual for hamsters nails to need clipping, they can get pretty long and curly. I would suggest getting a vet to do it though, you don't want to make your hamster bleed all over the place! Also better that the vet gets bitten than you! We had budgie in the other day whose owner had cut it's claws - blood everywhere, very stressed bird.

maybe but make sure you don't cut the quick.
get a light and shine it under the hamster's nails.
there should be a line in the nails (this is the quick).
Dont cut into the quick.
But tbh theres no point in cutting ur hamsters nails cos it will only grow back in the end.

I would suggest a vet clip them or just use a file or sandpaper. It also helps if the hamster has wood toys and maybe a nice rock for the nails.

Trixie. For sure. No offense but "twinkle" sounds like something your hamster would make on a trip to the bathroom. Rofl.

yea, but if you can see that in the nail there's redness, dont cut near that. but otherwise if you can get him to hold still i say go for it. it wont hurt him.
