You didn't say where the ants were but the ant cups made by Raid are great and I recommend then to anyone. My parents who are elderly just rid their ant problem with them. For you because of your pets and I'm an animal lover am worried about the sprays thats why these are much better. These cups can be put under your furniture , cupboards, refrigerator, anywhere the animals can't get them. The stuff inside the cups draws the ants to the cups and the take some of that with them to their nest or if they like it enough to eat the food die in the cup. Mainly they die right there in the cup because I found it fascinating and watched at my parents and they DO die right there.

Terro, but slip it under something like the fridge, or behind it, or if you can see how the ants come in, put it just outside that door. It is a liquid, looks like white syrup, you put a drop on the little cardboard strips that comes with the box, the ants get it take it back to the nest, kills the whole nest. If you see lots of ants, eating it, let them alone, so they take it back to the nest.

Ahhhhhhh, the ole' Antie issue. I've had this problem myself. They are little pests, are they not? Here's what we did that is COMPLETELY safe for kids and pets.

Find the area where they congregate the most, or if they're all over, just sprinkle CORN MEAL all around the area, and here is what will happen.

The ants take the cornmeal back to the nest and eat it. However, when they drink or take on fluid, their digestive tracks cannot handle this and they explode and die as will all ants in the colony who eat the cornmeal...and they will eat it.
It takes a 'little longer' however this is the SAFEST method used to date, AND won't hurt the environment, your floors or YOUR FAMILY.

Good luck...I know how that one is.

we had a colony of tens of thousands of ants when we moved into our last house. The ONLY thing that worked was Insectigon. its all natural diatomecious earth ask at the garden shop. it dessicates their body and kills them that way just by them walking over it. we do around our house every year and never have ants. It is not a chemical, but is totally natural

I use terro it is a liquid and i have pets does not bother them you can get it at walmart or any hardware. U put a drop on apiece of the cardboard that comes with it, it gets the ants to come and then they take it back to nests, really does work.
