Impossible to say. You need at least one number to be associated with one of the units of measure.
For example there are 4 feet in a 2 square foot area.
Or 9 feet in a 3 square foot area.

I am going to go way out on a limb here and answer this question seriously giving the benefit of the doubt.
If you are trying to measure for carpet, one typically does this in yards.
Measure the room, get your square footage and divide by 9.
Lets say you have a 12x12 room. The square footage is 144.
144 divided by 9 is 16. So you would need 16 yards of carpet. I hope this answers the question.

Honey, a square foot is one foot long and one foot wide, only one technically.
That is unless you are trying some of that new math on us.

As many as there are on one side times the number on the other side - it being a square means both sides are the same although being a square isn't required to determine square feet.
+----+
|......| = 1 square foot
+----+
+----+----+
|......|......|
+----+----+ = 4 square feet (2 x 2 = 4)
|......|......|

and so on

It's 1 foot long and 1 foot wide. It's not quite an accurate question.
