Most computer operated emission test stations will automatically reject any vehicle with a check engine light on.
Even if you reset the light you will have to drive the car 35-50 miles before the computer on board will be able to be read.
Get the code read and fix the problem. It may be a minor fix.
Autozone will scan the code for free.
