You have the right to ask for your old salary, yes, but it's certainly something you should have negotiated before being hired. I know you assumed that you would be returned to your previous pay, but they may have started you out at a starting pay. Obviously, if you offer more to the company (i.e. in the way of experience), and are at a higher state of value to the company than someone they are hiring off the street, that should be something you discuss in the negotiation process.

Unless you were on a leave of absence then you would be entitled to the same salary that you had. But because you just left, they have the right to start you from the bottom again. You can mention that you would like your old salary back, but legally they can start you at the bottom again, because you quit.

Sorry, no, at least not on this basis alone. You took the job, which implies that you accepted the salary (even if no actual amount was specified).
However, if you find that other recent hires are being paid more for the same work, then you might have a case.
Moral of the story: Never assume anything.

You have the right to ask, and you should, but they are not obligated to restore your or original salary. By agreeing to work for them, you agreed to the new salary, whether you were informed of it or not. You should have discussed the salary beforehand. Since you left them, you are of that much less value to them. You have become less reliable in their eyes, because they don't know if you'll leave again.

You can ask for it. They don't have to give it to you.
