Why are many countries in East and South Africa politically stable while countries in West Africa are not?

well first of all sierra leone, nigeria, and liberia are all in West Africa, thus proving my point.

Second of all in East and South Africa there are many politically stable countries such as Swaziland, Ethopia, and South Africa.

Liberia? Western Sahara? Ethiopia? Sudan? Sierra Leone?, Nigeria? DRC/Zaire? Zimbabwe? Uganda? Rwanda?

I don't think I buy your basic argument.... no region of sub-Saharan Africa is politically stable.
